Confession of Faith

Our Confession of Faith:

1. We believe in one God eternally exisiting as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4,5; Matt. 22:37, Jn. 1:18, Jn. 3:16)

2. We believe God revealed Himself in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, the inerrant and inspired word of God, without contradiction, the only reliable guidebook for life and the final authority in the life of the church. (Ps. 119:9; 30:105; 137-144:2. Tim. 3:14-17, Heb. 4:12-13, II Pet. 1:16-21 Jn. 20:30-31)

3. We believe that man fell into sin, brining depravity and death upon the race; that as sinner, man is self-centered and self-willed, unwilling and unable to break with sin. (Gen. 1:27, 31; Matt. 18:1-14, I Tim. 4:10)

4. We believe that in the beginning God created all things. He made man in His divine image, with a free will, moral character, and a spiritual nature. (Gen. 1:1,17,26 Ps. 139:7-12 Rom. 8:28 Col. 1:16)

5. We believe that there is one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who died to redeem us from sin and arose for our justification. (Lk. 19:10 Jn. 1:1 Rom. 5:11 Hebs. 2:15)

6. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ, a free gift bestowed by God on those who repent and believe in Christ. (Jn. 3:16, I Pet. 1:2, I Jn. 1:8-10, Jude 24)

7. We believe that Christ commissioned the church to go into all the world, and make disciples of all nations, ministering to every human need. (Amos 5:21-24, Matt. 18:18-20)

8. We believe that those who repent and believe should be baptized with water according to the commandment of Jesus Christ. Baptism symbolizes cleansing from sin, our dying to self and being raised in newness of life, and shows our commitment to Christ. (Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 2:16-21, Gal. 3:27, Roms. 6:1-6)

9. We believe both singleness and marriage are honored by God, who designed marriage to be the union on one man and one woman for life. Homosexual practice rejects this celebration of diversity. God intended for sexual relationship to be between one man and one woman in the sanctity of marriage only. (Gen. 2:20-25, Eph. 5:22-33, I Cor. 6:9-11, Roms. 1:18-32, I Cor. 7:10-16, Matt. 19:3-12)

10. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, effects new birth, and gives guidance in life. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is a separate experience than conversion and water baptism. We believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit as evidenced in the charismatic gifts, ministries and fruit in the life of the believer. (Jn. 16:7-15, Lk. 24:49, Acts 2:1-4 & 38, Acts 10:44-48, Gal. 5:22-24)
