Gospel Light Worship
Sing to the Lord a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.
- Psalm 33:3
Worship has been an important part of life at Gospel Light since it’s founding over a quarter century ago. Our Sunday Worship service is a focal part of church life. We do not rush through our worship time; rather we allow our worship time to fill as much of our lives as we can. Worship does not just take place on Sunday mornings. Worship is not an event – worship is a lifestyle.
At Gospel Light, we believe that Worship is an act of service to God. Worship is not simply singing songs; worship is every act of service, so long as that service is dedicated to the Lord. We worship daily with our hands, our feet, our mouths and our hearts.
Music has always had a very important role at Gospel Light. Each of our ministries has music playing a vital role. Our cell groups worship together at each meeting, and often share those songs with the congregation. Our youth ministry has it’s own Worship services as well.
Gospel Light Worship is made up of those members who have devoted a large part of their lives and ministries to the worship of God through music, and the leading of the congregation in spiritual songs. These singers and musicans represent a cross section of life at GLCC; men, women, youth, adults, leaders and pastors. The team’s generation-spanning, multicultural makeup brings variety and freshness to the Worship experience. Gospel Light Worship is equally at home singing traditional hymns as they are today’s newest worship songs. Gospel Light Worship has ministered at a variety of places throughout the northeast. In the summer of 2008, the team was invited to minister during the Sheehan Center’s annual Citywide Basketball Tournament, playing in front of hundreds of inner-city youth in a non-church environment.
In 2009, the team moved into the studio to record their first worship album, entitled Prepare, which was released in May, 2010. For more information on the album, go to the microsite.
